Waste Management has the worst offices in TX than any other location.
Offices are housed at the landfill where you risk your life breathing
odors from garbage when you step outside. Inside, you risk developing
respiratory ailments / dysfunction due to all the dust that hangs in the
air from the fleet maintenance shop adjacent to the facility.
The mindset of this office is "hourly" - regardless of your professional
and exempt status, you WILL be treated as an hourly employee. You are
expected to be at work at 8am - as though you punch a clock. The dress
code is supposedly casual only on Fridays - but don't risk wearing
business casual clothes here - walking across the parking lot to get to
the building, you might be splashed with mud by the myriad of trucks
coming into / out of the facility. Don't wear decent shoes. Culture is
very clique-ish - and so are advancement opportunities. Those employed
from outside the industry are not welcomed with open arms.
