Job Title Salary Survey
Research Analyst Salary is commensurate with experience up to a maximum of $81k. Staff below that pay level receive annual merit adjustments of 2.5%, though that can be higher. Typically COLAs are provided, though not over the last 4 years due to the state's budget difficulties. We have access to a combination defined benefit/defined contribution retirement plan, which includes health benefits. Employer pays about 80% of health care benefits, and staff has many plans to choose from. 11 paid holidays each year; 1 personal day; 12 sick days; vacation begins at 2 weeks paid and climbs to 4 weeks paid with tenure as a state employee. Staff may opt for a 35 hour work week during interims, which can be compressed to a 4 day work week. These jobs are great for people who like to travel, because while you are absolutely captive during session, during interims you can usually be off as much as you like, since your work is usually something you are working on alone. Many people choose to go part time in interims.
