Filled out online application on Walgreens website. You must complete
the application on a computer at a Walgreens store, which is a skills
assessment. This assessment asks basic math questions on making
change, and some situational questions. ("What would you do if...")
They are all multiple choice, and takes maybe 15 minutes. All fairly
easy questions, but can be distracting since computer is right outside
the pharmacy with people milling around. I followed up a few days
later by asking the store manager if there was a DM or hiring manager I
could contact. He gave me DM's name and number of the district
office. I called, and they immediately scheduled me for a first
interview with a lead store manager in my area. During that interview,
I was asked maybe 3 questions. ("Tell me about yourself." "Why do you
want to work at Walgreens?") All very basic. Interview took about 20
minutes. I was recommended for a second interview with DM at district
office. Office called and scheduled it a week later. This one took
about 45 minutes, with more questions, but nothing unusual and no
surprises. Find a website or book with the 10-12 most frequently asked
interview questions, and study it, and you'll do fine. I was offered
the job at the end of that interview. Everyone at store level, as well
as DM, were very personable and there wasn't any undue pressure. Whole
process from online application to job offer took about 3 weeks.
