In the past, it seemed that things were very relaxed, and the company
adhered to things that they said, such as advancement opportunities,
and that it was a "family oriented" corporation. However, this is not
the case. We are pushed and pushed to work faster and faster, and
sometimes our supervisor yells at us and picks on certain people. They
have been telling me for over a year now that I could get more training
and get promoted. This has yet to happen. People who should be fired,
for such things as swearing and treating customers badly, are promoted.
Most of the time, what they say and what they do are totally
different. They ignore suggestions that we tell them, then later enact
those suggestions and take credit for them. When I was hired, I was
told that "you only work your schedule, then you go home" In
actuality, it was "You dont go home until your work is done" Which
resulted in my team working sometimes over 45 hours in the week, then
we weren't allowed to keep the overtime, because we were sent home.
They also try to crush unions. When we are hired, we are shown a video
about what to do if a union rep approaches you, report them to
management. Also, the company says that you wont get into trouble for
speaking to a rep, but in actuality you will be fired, it has happened
all over.
Opportunities for advancement are almost 0. As I mentioned, I have bee
told that I would recieve more training for over a year now and still i
have gotten nothing.
