Web Developer Opportunities for advancement? Huh? No. We were contractors and unpaid for our overtime. The director was allegedly (I say *allegedly*) fired for embezzlement. It was a horrible place to work, never knowing from one day to the next whether one would be let go, simply for having to go home. As a single parent, I couldn't even be home to help my kid with homework because I feared I wouldn't have a job the next day if I didn't put in the obligatory "overtime" without getting paid. While I was there, the idiot Security and Facilities person (a woman) exposed herself and we were all interviewed about "the incident." I got let go, presumably because I was truthful when they asked whether my coworker was being discriminated against for a medical condition. It was obvious that they were pressuring her to leave. She now has a suit against them for wrongful termination. I don't blame her, and I will testify if at all possible. Someone should go to classactionsuit.org or whatever and see if they can gather contact info for a class action suit; you know there are more people who had to work overtime without pay. I contacted the Dept. of Labor anonymously, which doesn't do much. The contracting agency who sent me there is cutthroat and doesn't give two craps about their contractors as far as I'm concerned. They didn't about me, anyway. All they cared about was getting their money. I worked with a bunch of vegans who refused to eat meat and they would leave their nasty rotten lunch in the fridge, smelling up everything. The latest thing I heard is that someone stuck a four-inch blade knife in someone's chair at work and there was allegedly an investigation about it. If you want to work for a company that let most of its contractors like me go without notice and it's located in frigging Carlsbad, about 40 miles north of San Diego, go for it. My former boss works there now, from another company I worked at, and he sexually harrassed everyone, including me. I hear he is the water boy for the rest of the team, which should suit his talents just fine. Seems like they have lowered their hiring standards. Oh, and we had to pay for our own water (water cooler donation). These are just all my opinions.
