Culture:
Very positive experience. Flexibility in hours, dress code, vacation
policy etc. An engineer feels valued in the organization and gets
opportunity to have a say in what goes into the product.
Career Growth:
Sour experience at this end. Company has no process that provides
employee a way to indicate desired career goals. Its a cut-throat
environment that discourages being cross-functional. They know why
they hired you and they want you to stick to that role.
People:
Very smart hires in the engineering organization. Thats the biggest
PLUS in working for VERITAS. You get to work with the best in the
industry and have an opportunity to learn from them. Unfortunately, a
lot of the good people are leaving the company due to the other factors
mentioned here.
Management:
The executive management does a good job interfacing with external
entities and keeps the stockholders and analysts happy. The mediocrity
of the middle management at VERITAS muddles some of the good work done
by the execs and the engineers.
