The interview process was two-pronged and included an initial interview
with a team made up of staff, board members, volunteers and agency
partners. Questions in the first interview tended to be more generic
and focused on learning more about my skills, experience and related
activities.
The second, and final interview was conducted for three final
candidates and included another group interview with a group of the
same balance as the first interview, as well as a meeting with other
staff. Questions by the larger, mixed group were more pointed, and
included one significant question that was given to us in advance. The
question was "What, specifically, would you do to strengthen and
support the United Way's role as a competitive grant maker". Quesitons
by staff were geared more toward measuring the "fit" into the
organization and its culture.
