Job Title: Screener
Location: Newark, NJ Airport
Submitted on: 05-Feb-05
Job Title Workplace Survey
Screener Very poor management culture, no support structure, threats and mandatory directives largely substituted for morale builders. TSA is Federal yet it takes orders from major air companyies , which companies have goals directly opposite that of air flight and airport security. Promotion very difficult and process convoluted. Training is demanding and difficult but is largely ignored if the training conflicts with airline company demands. Though Federal TSA does not fulfill it's commitmebts as stated at the time of hire. Frankly TSA lies to the prospective employee as to hours of work, pay for training, reimbursement for transit, vacation time ect. On a given day a screener can lose his hands or life based on the desires of terrorists. Yet management treats the screener not as a professional but a zero.
