| Office Assistant II |
Extremely long interview process. Being a public agency every thing is
very formal. First, a District application is filled out (2
typewritten pages, answering questions of how you are qualified for the
position, looking for not only experience but also, writing skills and
thought organization) and a recruitment survey must be turned in by the
deadline for consideration. Second, qualified candidates are screened
out and invited to a 2 hour written test. Third, the highest scoring
percentage (usually a cut off of the top 7-13 people)are invited back to
a panel interview. Each candidate is scored and the highest scoring
candidates are invited to a second (hiring) interview. The top
candidate is chosen and a lenghty and thorough reference check is
done. After the references are verified, the
candidate is made a conditional offer. The candidate must then pass a
physical and a driver insurability test. Once, all the tests are
passed, the candidate is given an official start date and offer letter.
