There was only one round of interviews, and they were conducted by senior
partners of the practice group for which I was applying. The questions
were very friendly, however, not aggressive at all, and were primarily
designed to flesh out the extent of my experience in this area as well as
my commitment to it. More importantly, the questions were designed to
see whether I'd fit into the firm's collegial atmosphere, an atmosphere
that is cultivated very careful by the partners - associates have been
dismissed recently for engaging in brusque, rude, and overly aggressive
behavior that is contrary to the firm's desired culture.
