In the short time I've been with the company it has been a very good
experience. They provide and encourage training in all types of fields
for all employees. They support, financially, my professional
certifications and the continuing professional education requirements.
The business lines I support are all supportive and involve me in their
stratigic planning and come to me for advise concerning the handling of
their suppliers. Senior management has given me a high level project
which they say they normally would not have given to someone with as
little time with the company as I have but they are impressed with my
ability to adapt so quickly so they gave it to me anyway. I was shocked
and humbled by their actions and belief in my ability. The culture is
one of family and the company fosters a balanced family/work life.
They don't just pay lip service to the ideal that the employees make
the company what it is. They want the employees to feel that they are a
part of something bigger and that they do make a difference. We are a
diverse company with many executive positions being chaired by women
and minorities. The cross section of the company is a melting pot of
ethnicity. The dress code is business casual and the opportunity for
advancement is unlimited. I was hesitant about the job, I had worked
in a large corporate environment for 20 years before moving to smaller
startup companys but this company doesn't feel big even though it is,
close to 20K employees.
