Job Title Interview Survey
Inside Sales Representative My first step in the job process was to go directly to the company web link and see what job openings they had available. Then I found that suited my skills and experience and emailed my cover letter and resume directly to the company. I had two interviews(with HR manager). One was a phone interview and the other was a face to face interview. The phone interview is pretty much a sizing you up process. The interviewer ask questions like: Why did you apply for this position? Tell me a little bit about what you did in your last job? Why did you leave your last job? The interviewer wanted to know if I fit their profile. After more sales/customer service related questions than the interviewer ask me if I can come in for a face to face interview. Which I did. The face to face was a more detailed session that last about an hour. I was very prepared but this is the first time in an interview that the interviewer went through every detail of my resume. For example: I had in my resume that I had strenghts in Organization, Training and Coaching, Team player, etc.. Every question was: Give me an example on how you use organization in your previous jobs? Give me an example on how you trained and coached an employee? Give me an example on what you did to be part of a team? I have had interviews where the basic questions were asked. For example: Briefly describe yourself? What are your strengths and weaknesses? But never like this where the interviewer went through ever detail information about my resume. If the interviewer didn't understand something she would ask me to explain in more detail so that it was understood exactly what I did. Needless so say it was a tough interview but a well worth experience which I can take with me in my next interview.
