The overall company has approximately 2.5K employees. 150 of which are
located in the headquarters in Norwalk, CT. The majority of employees
are telephone operators.
Trilegiant has had 3 presidents since I first started in 2001. It
appears as though each person on the Executive Committee will get the
opportunity to be president.
Business for the company is slowing due to attrition. The market has
been saturated for their current products and new product development is
clearly not a priority.
There is not much cultural or sexual diversity at Trilegiant There are
no minorities beyond the Director level. Barely 10% of the Directive
population are of an ethnicity other than caucasian and 90% of this is
male. On occassion you will hear a mention of "the Boys' Club". And
sexual advances and/ or exploitation are the the accepted norm.
Many people have a good time. The dress code is casual and there is
room for advance for those who maintain an acceptable presence among
the "popular crowd". There are parties both on and off the premises
that remind us of high school or a fraternity and sority social in
college.
The average employee in CT is in their late twenties to mid-thirties.
There are always a variety of functions to look forward to such as happy
hours on the premises, and spelling bees etc. awhich are thrown to keep
the troops continuously entertained and enable everyone the opportunity
to participate. A lot of the extravegance has slowed in recent months
due to the economy, some financial awareness and our new leadership.
Confidence in the aptitudes and work of one another is not the norm.
The executive comittee attempted and failed to sell the company as soon
as the most recent reorganization as is the norm for the reorganization
that occurs every 3 to 4 months.
The hours in the financial departments are longer than all other
groups. But for the most part majority of the management work 9am-5pm.
Opportunities for advancement are reserved for the incompetent and
physically attractive to reside over the over over educated and under
qualified masses.
