I left the company to pursue other interests and so it was by my choice
to leave. Towers Perrin as a whole will provide you with excellent
training opportunities in benefits which will educate you in a field
you may have known very little about. After a short amount of time, you
will feel like an expert in the field of benefits. However, you must
realize that it is a call center. When going through my interview
process, nothing was said about it being a call center. So, after the
excitement wears off that you have been hired by a company like Towers
Perrin, you realize that it's not as glamourous as they make it out to
be. If you don't mind sitting in a cubicle with a headset on and
staring at a computer screen for 8 hrs. a day, then this is the job for
you. On the other hand, the diversity is great at the location in which
I worked. You were able to work with so many people with different
backgrounds. The hours are fine if you don't have a family or anyone to
tend to at home. They expect for you to work at least 9 to 10 hour days
and more often than not, to work the weekends. Advancing is easier than
getting a pay raise. You will find that you may get another title,
however, you've been accomplishing the same amount of work that is
expected of you from the new title. Also, there is little compensation
for the amount of work you are expected to perform. Towers Perrin has
been labeled a great stepping stone by others. I agree to this because
of the knowledge you receive in the benefits field. Also, because once
you have had the training that Towers has provided you, then try to
find employment elsewhere. You may be appreciated more somewhere else.
