I was offered $50,000 plus up to 20% in bonus based on the companies
performance. I was making $50,000, 10% bonus, 10% stock and a company
car. The fact that the company was losing $1.5 million per month
reduced my bonus to nothing. So in reality I took a pay cut to take the
job. I asked specific questions about past company performance and past
bonuses from the company and was told that there had not been a year
when there wasn't a 100% bonus given. On my third day I found out that
was not true.
