Withheld I found Texas Children's to be a very positive place with the vast majority of employees genuinely dedicated to the job of helping sick or injured children. Dress code ranged from scrubs to dressy casual. Opportunities for advancement were generally great for nurses and allied health positions since those are in short supply. I was in a support position and advancement was okay in my area. Hours were a standard 40 hour week, with rare overtime needed. Clinical staff often worked overtime, either as required or by choice. Best diversity of anyplace I've worked in 20 years. Downside: Management is slow to act on tough decisions (like firing incompetent managers or upgrading to better technology). Top management is also very complacent because most have been there for 15 or more years.
