I came here to this company on two separate occasions and was chosen
above all the other applicants - they even went higher in salary to
obtain me as an employee. My interview was like no other that I had
ever been on. First I was interviewed by the woman whose place I was
taking since she was retiring and we talked about everything from pets
to skin care products and then by the CFO who just engaged me in
pleasant conversation and warned me about the cantankerous man I would
be working for - they felt that I had the disposition to endure his
idiosyncrasies - I came back two weeks later and met with the CEO
himself who told me in no uncertain terms was he thrilled about having
to get another assistant after having the same one for twenty years.
He
inquired about my resume and skill set and I believe his main goal was
to see if our personalities were compatible - at that time he felt that
I could handle his obnoxious behavior and on the most part can - it
came
down to two candidates and they chose me, not for my skills but because
of my demeanor - since I have been here I have integrated the latest
software into the company - some were still using DOS!!!! I then
waited
another week to find out I had the job and had to wait three weeks to
start! They were going to pay only 45K and I make 55K.
