Since 1997, I have seen a significant swing and most importantly
positive change in corporate culture at Sun. Initially, it was very
punitive, not mentoring or supportive, did not listen to the field. If
something did not go according to plan, indivuals were taken to task
publicly in meetings.
I can happily report that the company has taken a 180 degree swing under
the new management of Rick Matros and Bill Mathies. I am also a direct
report to the Eastern VP Gerry Jenich. It has been about 2 years now
under their leadership and it is a much better place. There is a focus
on developing leaders and mentoring them, while still holding all
accountable. Our core values identify employees as the company and
quality as our bottom line; that we surpass all expectations, we have
ownership and accountability and corp serves the field.
I know I have a voice that is heard and listened to.
Sun Health operates LTC facilities and rehab services across the
country. Our dress code is professional in our healthcare facilties,
business casual for meetings. As healthcare professionals, our hours
are long but can be flexible for personal needs. We work to get the job
done. I would generally say 8-5 Monday - Friday, but our busines
operate 24/7 so weekends and holidays are expected at times.
