Due to large staff, many managers were present, thus resulting in mixed
ideas about set procedures (different managers interpreting procedures
in different ways).
There was no competition as such as this Casino is the only one in the
state (the nearest is in VIC - over 200km away -and is far smaller in
comparison).
Employee morale was generally low as most of the clientelle were
gambling (and losing), the staff were constantly in the presence of
depressed people.
The Casino complex is also home to two theatres, an array of
restaurants and numerous shops.
Once employed, transferring between departments is easy because all
jobs are offered internally before being advertised externally.
