Outlook:
Strong brand, fair market share, and a growing economy are good
indicators that Spherion will be here for the long hall. Exactly who
they will be is up in the air for now. For someone considering Spherion
I would encourage him or her to investigate very thoroughly. Spherion
can come out of this in a great position but one must weigh the facts.
1. For Technology ?? Sr. level management is not from a technology
background
2. SQM & OSM service offerings are not priorities.
3. Larger percentages of business are falling into the "commodity"
Vendor Managed Programs. Hence skinny margins and less profit for you.
4. The Professional Staffing Group and Technology Group have merged.
They are polar opposites (transactional verses value add) service
delivery models. A blended delivery model is in the works.
5. Spherion is undergoing a PeopleSoft Conversion. Lots of fun coming
with this initiative but a there will be a large payoff in the back
office systems. Which are currently quite disparate.
6. The new comp program officially rolled out in May 2004. It is
infested with bugs so brace your self for a financial roller coaster.
