The company is currently set on increasing thir profits, as last year
(2004) was very low. They are wanting to achieve this by reducing the
amount of unchargable hours that faultment work. The faultment
regualrly charge hier hours to what we call BUCKETS where any hours in
between jobs should go. But due to laziness this happens too often and
we are now left with a situation where we are not bringing in enough
money.
Siemens NZ is also looking at expanding its bases to purchasing wind
generator turbines which will work in the South of the North Island.
These are set to be a very expensive initial outlay, but due o thier
simpliciyt have extremly low running costs.
Siemens provides very good opportunities for International employees to
cme and join us in NZ for a short exchange period, and vice-versa for
us to go overseas. This gives staff something to work for and is an
incentive for people keen on paid overseas travel to become the best
they can at their job to represent that department from Siemens
overseas.
