Sherin and Lodgen is a small-to-mid size law firm with offices in
Boston's financial district. The diversity among employees here is
somewhat diverse, though could be improved. Most paralegals are in at
9am and leave by 5pm most days, although long hours and a more rigid
schedule is expected when a large case pops up or the fiscal end nears.
The dress code is very strict here because we are trying to be more
competitive with some of the larger Boston law firms. The specialty of
our firm is handling mid-size corporate clients and litigation.
Associates work long hours in their quest to become partner, which isn't
rewarded as often as other firms; therefore, S&L seems to have a large
turnover rate. Paralegals do not have room for advancement here but
raises and bonuses are common in the place of job title changes; it's
really more of a firm for certified paralegals than college grads or
those hoping to gain legal experience before law school.
