The Sharper Image is amazing when it comes to advertising; however
product development is less than perfect. Their only weakness quality
of product and lack of incentive for their employees. The Sharper
Image's entire motive is to introduce new and innovative products to
the public. The have an extensive training procedure and have
continuous training every month for all their employees on all their
products. So there is no excuse for an employee to not be fully aware
of a product, they are also very big on mystery shopping and
maintaining a consistent draw for every month, if one is unsuccessful
in meeting the required dollar amount per hour each month, three times
consecutively they could be terminated. I find a strong weakness in the
company is their customer service department. Far to often do I find my
self in battle with unknowledgeable members of the customer service
department, whom I feel tell customers what ever they want to hear in
an attempt to make a foolish cover-up of otherwise simple problems such
as " your package was not shipped yet" instead they tell customers it
should be there in a few days. Another complaint is the quality of
product, the Sharper Images main money maker is the Ionic Breeze, and
however the product is too often returned numerous times for assorted
reasons. It is always interesting to see the mixed reaction of a
customer when they tell you they absolutely love the product but is
upset because it is the third one they have tried......perhaps that is
the reason for the five year warranty.
