I was offered $52,000 for the entry level position that I applied for at
Sensis
Corporation. I graduated from RPI in 2002 so I was happy with this
offer. In
addition, my previous employment at IBM was offered $53,500. Sensis
Corporation
is a much smaller company about 450 employees compared to the behemoth
IBM. In
addition, cost of living is relatively similar in Syracuse, NY and
Raleigh, NC.
Therefore, I thought I was offered an exceptional deal and it was well
worth the
transition. Vacation time is similar for both companies. Instead of
one being
able to immediately qualify for stock purchases like at IBM, one needs
to work a
year to buy stocks at Sensis Corporation. They both offer tuition
reimbursement
if one decides to pursue a higher education.
