I was working with another service company and was scared to death of
their work ethics. I called one of the top managers(during the busiest
time ever I
think) Told him of the experience I had and if he would give me a chance
I would make him a hand. (he took a chance on me) I told him I wanted to
give my current employer proper notice and he said he respected that.
However, the first the he asked is how is my driving record and if I
couldn't pass that the interview would not go any further. He knew I had
knowledge of twenty-four hour call so that was not an issue. He gave me
a short run down of the company and equipment and what they expected of
me, and could I stand the test. Again I told him with all sincerity give
me a chance and I'll make you a hand. The guy saw in me how I wanted to
be
a part of this company. And he gave me a chance. I then told him before
I waste anymore of his time there were so cards I needed to lay on the
table. I told him I had worked for cased-hole prior and didn't know the
blessing I had to be a part of this company. I had a problem with
alcohol in the past but was sober for five years. Gary told me we all
have problems at times as long as it was behind me. Now I have nine
years in January 2004 and I was sooo grateful someone had given me a
chance. Schlumberger will always stand out with me for that. I needed a
second chance, because I knew what I had and have to offer. THe guy is
a good man and a benefit to this company. He watched me and he groomed
me.
