Job Title Salary Survey
Manager Salary increases for non salaried positions was minimal. Some received as little as $.20 an hour increase to $.75 an hour increase. $.25 was considered good. After the one year "honeymoon" period of Sam's take over, the general manager left employment with Sam's because they wanted the general manager to take a pay cut in salary of 1/3. Sam's brought in several managers after their arrival. Managers from areas where the cost of living was less. The money agreed to work for was sufficient in the lower cost of living areas but not where they were transfered to. I think it is hard to get a good pay package from Sam's/WalMart. For a young person with no or little working experience, Sam's/WalMart might be a good place to start out in a career. It definitly would be just a rung up the ladder.
