I've interviewed with many people. Be prepared. Phone screen; 5-6
onsite interviews in one day; call back by HR for more phone screen;
another phone screen with yet another supposed hiring manager; met in
person with this person; THEN, despite repeated attempts to find out
next steps, emails and phone calls, I get no replies. I'm told I've got
what they're looking for, but still no word and no forthcoming offer.
They're very very confused. Moving at 100 miles / hour and have no clue
what they're really looking for. I've talked w/several other candidates
and the story seems to be the same. If this is how they treat you
coming in, imagine what they'll treat you like when you're an employee.
Good luck!
In general, the interview is a standard type Q&A interview. Most of
them are 1 hour long; some are 30 minutes. Try explaining your
qualifications to their requirements in that time with them doing all
the talking. Very young interviewers and very inexperienced at it.
HR is somewhat helpful. Be prepared to give them your SSN to get
reimbursed for your travel and expenses if you're coming from other
than the Bay area. The only company who made me give this info and
complete a W-9. I've still not been reimbursed for my expenses.
