Hiring process.
An ad was posted in the newspaper. I submitted a resume to the Dept
Head who had an office manager leave me a message which I responded to
by phone. There were two rounds of interviews. The first one with the
Dept Head and a certain faculty member. The second was with the Dean.
Of note I remember getting some vague or exclusively general answers to
just what would happen in the absence of student workers.
I remember that I would have to read between the lines. I do not
remember being told that I would get stuck somewhat with correcting the
lines.
I remember being told to expect some bad behavior on the part of certain
professors. I do not remember being told that Tenure protects them from
doing criminal wrong.
I remember of note being told that you have to do something morally
wrong like physically harm a student. I did not know at the time it
meant you could get away with almost anything else especially abuse of
equipment that does not belong to you.
