I think the University should do what others have done punish the abusers and remove the priviledge. New Faculty and new staff workers get abused because they are not on the same playing field as the "Priviledged Faculty" this does not make for good morale. Morale is poor. Among the tenured there is no competition just bickering and dirty politics. No one can challenge them and they can carry on like little children before the Dean Students come to the university as adults and they can see through these fronts. Two departments will suffer and decrease in enrollments of Majors as students find ways to work their way into their classes via different majors like Nursing, Physical Therapy, or Pre-Pharmacy. Students will also perform better at the Community College level to get more of their credits accepted and avoid a detailed stay within these departments. Last but not least students will get very good grades do well on tests like the MCAT or the PCAT go on to the appropriate schools without seeking a degree from this particular university.
