Job Title Interview Survey
Graduate Student There was only one interview day in which I formally interviewed with two professors. The rest of the day I and the other interviewees met with current graduate students and some other professors at a poster session. A poster session is a function in which students present their data in the form of a scientific poster and people can learn about their research and socialize. There were the normal questions, what research have you done previously, why do you want to pursue a degree, etc. But, during the "informal" poster session, one of the professors asked me, "how much is a microgram?" For some reason, it caught me off guard and I was trying to think an example of something that would weigh a microgram. All he wanted me to say was that it is a lot less than a gram.
