The staff at the school and the students at the school are the best
feature of the school. The staff are very supportive and the girls are
well-behaved. However there is a climate of fear at times, I believe
this has been engendered by the admin team, the leader of which tends
to operate in a dictatorial style. Some key head teachers last year
lost their head roles after querying the principal on why certain
things happened in certain ways. The principal did not reappoint these
individuals in their roles, she wrote them harrassing type of letters
to their homes during school breaks and did not thank them for hours
and hours of hard work. I accept the principal has her own biew on
these matters, but we have a strong pattern at our institution that top
leading teachers in their fields feel driven to leave this school.
Something is clearly not right. For me in my role I have experienced a
lot of diversity dealing with Art, Music, Drama and Dance faculties and
subsequent productions. There are numerous opportunities for
advancement, too many I think at times. What happens then is that very
young and inexperienced teachers are coming into these roles and
changing over at high rates-not good for building stability in schools.
Dress code is professional and hours can be longdepending what
deparmtnet you work in. I would frequently have 50+ hours per week.
