The only water utility in South Australia, SA Water employs over 1,200
people and services over 1,000,000 customers. The company encourages
free speech and self improvement, offering training support to people
wishing to further their careers. Standard office hours are between 8am
and 6pm each weekday, with employees working an average of 7.5 hours per
day. Flexible working hours are encouraged however, with employees
being
able to accumulate any extra hours worked and use that time for days off
at a later date. Dress code is reasonably flexible but employees are
encouraged to dress formally. Many departments encourage a 'casual
dress
day' each week though. Obviously such a large company also comes with
the
benefit of having regular opportunities for career advancement. A
person
with the right attitude and work ethic can certainly reach a position
that offers a good salary and a job title to be proud of.
