| RAYMES |
In the Middle East, the future is dim due to a lack of talent,
energetic, overly conservative, inexperienced, unconcerned, and
incestuous management team. One cannot lead from the desk, but by being
in the field with the customer and your people.
The lack of know-how of the leadership about their people, their
capabilities, and their daily work issues is apalling. No effort to
force the management to comply with a Six Sigma program in their office
environment (over-staffed office crew), but emphasis for the workers to
do such in a foreign environment non-conducive to 6-Sigma practices.
There is a tremendous market for an integrated weapons systems,
maintenance, technical training, and early warning and air defense
system in Saudi Arabia...not in the cards for Raytheon with the
management team in place. As always a good-old-boy network that should
have been sent home years ago has reinvented itself and requirements to
justify its fat existence at the expense of certified. productive labor
is the prime causual factor for a lack of growth other than a nebulous
Saudi budget plan for the future defense of their country.
