Manager Warning: You must be extremely desperate to work for Qwest. This company is not for anyone who takes pride in their work or their employer. If you do not care about your performance or the ethics of your profession, then you have hit pay dirt. In the short time I was with Qwest they went from a promising industry leader to a bottom feeder. Employer cutbacks included regular layoffs, lack of offices enmities (paper, pens), equipment failures (lack of on site equipment backups), no equipment upgrades, no training, and no career path. Anyone who has been there over the last 4 years has stopped believing in the company and its culture. The 'Sprit of Service' is a great idea, and I do believe some of the executive team believes in it. Its implementation is a complete failure. I cannot remember a single person taking it seriously. Qwest is a great example of a 'Good old Boys' Club'. If you upset someone in power, you were on a quick road out. I witnessed it happen time and again. During my employment with Qwest I began to question my own values and ethics. In summary, I would rather rob a bank with a slingshot, then return to Qwest.
