Working at Qwest was a nightmare. The senior leadership does
nothing but lie and put un-believeable pressure on the sales executives
for numbers. Working as a Global Account Manager, I was assigned 4
Global Accounts in which I was to penetrate and sell to. One of the
biggest problems is that Qwest does NOT have a international presence
and the accounts that I was assigned to required carriers to have an
international presence.
Our Vice President, Richard McGuire was a rude person that only served
the best interest of himself and the people in his inner circle. At one
point, I was told that I needed to work 12-14 hours per day to be
successfull and if I was not willing to do so, I would need to find
other employment. This coming from a man that came into the office at
10:00 am and would leave at 4:00 pm.
Opportunities for advancement were null. Their recognition program is
also a joke. I was one of the top reps in the country and never
received any recognition, while my manager received all of the credit
for my work... she was part of the inner circle.
I can't count the number of people that have left Qwest because of the
issues I have illustrated above.
