Quinn came to my law school (I think they only visit Yale, Harvard,
Stanford, Columbia, NYU, Berkeley, U. Va., Michigan, and a handful of
other top schools) and we had a 20 minute preliminary interview. It was
very pleasant. Name partner Bill Urquhart is often present at the
interviews, and I happen to interview with him. Instead of interviewing
on campus, he took me to get a slice of pizza. We discussed my interest
in litigation, but otherwise made small talk for the rest of the meal.
I got a callback to come visit Quinn in LA. When I visited, they put me
up in a hotel and I had 4 or 5 interviews, then they took me to lunch.
They gave me an offer immediately after lunch. Now that I work here, I
know that it is standard practice to make an offer at the end of the
interview (although there are some rare exceptions).
