Employee moral was always way down, and Putnam did nothing about it.
Anytime upper management wanted our opinion it was laughable they all
knew what we wanted but would overlook the obvious and offer
unequivalant alternatives instead. Putnam's weakness is that they have
no regard for their employees who are not management and a promotion for
anyone who was not brought in as management is next to none. Even
Putnam's sugar coated customer service statements, is just that sugar
coated. I had witnessed on several occassions customer request being
ignored and only when the customer was upset did they finally get there
information, also there were times when the irrate customer would be
directed to the wrong person who knew nothing about the situation
because they didn't even work in that department or they no longer were
involved in that department and their employee information was not
updated to reflect that. Putnam's internal procedures change too often
to be effective it's amazing that anything gets done.
