Operations Pro Staff is a staffing company going through a huge transition; like many others in this industry, it enjoyed incredible success in the late 90's up until early 2001. Unfortunately, much of the success was due to business climate and not a well executed business plan. When times got tough, things fell apart in a lot of key markets. Turnover was and continues to be rampant at all levels and much of the decision making seems to reactionary. Diversity is an issue, outside of California-it barely exists. It was so bad that they brought in a diversity director at a time when all non essential staff was laid off or pared back. he hasn't had any impact on actual diversity. the company seems to be on a gradual recovery but it is slow. Dress code is pretty much business casual, hours are 7:30-5:30-but overtime is pretty much expected by everyone despite pay cuts and constant compensation plan changes. The company has lost what used to make it unique-the ability to run your market the way it works for you, autonomy, real, meaningful support from management and a solid career path. There is no longer any career path at all for operations-a total dead end career choice. Only sales is rewarded at all. A real case of the haves (sales) and the nave nots (operations). One of the biggest scams here now is that on top of the 6% management fee each branch pays, you now have to pay a fee for and internal recruiter-someone from your own company (!) to find an employee! We ARE recruiters-yet we have to pay someone else to do this for our own staff. The owners and board are trying to make their profits totally on the backs of employees, without really doing much themselves to turn things around. Only exception would be the president- who sadly is the only non-owner Bob Stegall. A great leader trapped in a company where it is ok to hire relatives-even if one reports to a family member. One of the owners has his brother in an executive vp capacity-clearly over his head-making improper decisions and doing such things as sleeping with several different low level staff members throughout the country, bad mouthing former employees all over the place, and letting people know who is the next to go. Where does one go to complain about this-when his brother is an owner
