Not applicable. Interview and recruiting process has changed
significantly since my original interview with the firm.
However, as a manager that has put in for headcount requisitions, a
good question for the candidate would be to ask "what will I be doing
after I join the firm?". The firm generally won't hire new people
unless they have some kind of an idea of the chargeable work the person
will be doing. Don't take the job if the work doesn't sound
interesting. The hiring process is very segmented and de-centralized
throughout the firm. You can interview for another position that is
more to your liking. If you are a strong candidate, you shouldn't have
too many problems no matter where in the firm you interview. Strong
common sense and problem solving skills are the attributes most sought
after in a candidate. Other attributes: Leadership, project
management, industry expertise can generally be taught to a qualified
candidate.
