The corporate culture has evolved greatly over the past 10 years since
I have been employed. I would describe the culture as a balance
between highly professional and a relaxed setting in which teamwork and
coaching is a big theme. Upper management is approachable and they
practice what they preach. I have met both of our US Chairman and
Global Chairman. Both are very interested in their employees and make
an effort to be approachable. It is a business casual dress
environment but I find that the dress is more professional than other
industries. I prefer a more professional casual attire as it sets a
more professional tone for the company. The hours are still long but
the Firm is doing a better job of helping their employees find the
right balance. More importantly, the Firm realizes that they are doing
ok but they realize they need to do better. Overall, I have been most
impressed with the Firm's ability to take are hard, critical look at
itself and identify the areas they need to improve upon. I absolutely
love the people I work with. There is a strong sense of comraderie.
The partners are better to deal with as well. I am comfortable seeking
advice with our partners and I feel I can look up to them as mentors.
The Firm has recently started a program called "Partner Talkabouts" in
which every employee is assigned to have talkabout sessions with a
partner. Being that this is a new program, there is some success and
failures along the way but I am hopeful that it will improve. I allows
partners and employees to become better connected. The environment is
also very fast paced where the expectations are high. I think this is
good for the environment and for the right person, the perfect
environment to excel and learn.
