I started working in Assurance, speacialising in audit of insurance and
investment management companies. Simultaneously, I study for the ACA.
The firm is giving me paid study leave. I started in a peer group of 25
people and we have become close work mates.
Working hours are 9 to 5 on most days, however there is a busy season
from January to march when hours are a lot longer.
Workforce is very diverse. I am from Germany myself, there are a lot of
other Europeans and secondees from predominantly African and South
American countries.
Opportunities for advancement are very varied. There are secondment
opportunities abroad or into other areas of the business, e.g. Corporate
Finance or Forensic Services.
Community Work is also highly encouraged, and the firm supports these
projects financially, e.g. if you wish to run the London Marathon for a
charity.
