Graduate accountant The mission statement of PWC was to be the number 1 professional services provider. PWC is a large global company. Its strength is its brand. That is why it can afford to pay its staff at a lower rate because people are willing to work there for the name. However its strength is also its weakness. Because the staff are underpaid relative to companies in industry, PWC has a very high staff turnover rate, possibly around 30%. Generally graduates come into PWC to work for around 3 years during which time the company pays for their CA (Chartered Accounting) studies. Once staff attain their CA, they head off into industry where they can earn at least 10k more than what they would if they stayed at PWC. Hence, staff turnover is PWC's cancer.
