Pinkertons, a contract security company, was recently bought out by a
company in the Netherlands by the name of Securitas. Securitas also
purchased about 24 other U.S. security companies, including Burns, Wells
Fargo, Pony Express. Securitas has nice new uniforms to offer but
little else. The average entry level wages were very poor ($7 - 9
dollars, site supervisors were poorly trained and district management
was even worse. Their training programs were a joke and there was
little chance for raises. If the company pays you more than entry level
wages, they will work you like a dog. Hours are long because they
cannot attract good entry level employees that will stay. While I was
employed, they would not terminate incompetant or dishonest employees
because no one else would apply.
