I should of known from the beginning. I sent my resume on Monster.com
and within 1 week was contacted by the Regional Recruiter. I was
referred to the local Regional Manager, who set up my first interview 1
week later. I arrived, 1 hour early at a local Pilot location, only to
be told by the GM that he had no idea I was coming. Frustrated and
upset, he flashed through a 3 minute interview. Saying, "I can't get
ahold of my Regional." He took my resume, gave me a Pilot application,
and sent me on my way.
2 months later I recieved a call from the same Pilot Regional
Manager, saying he had just recieved my resume from Monster.com and if
I was interested in an interview. I explained what happened 2 months
prior and he said "wow, I must of forgot about you"
He sent me again to the same Pilot in Dalton, Ga. Again to the
same GM who had spoken to me before. This time was different however,
he gave me to a GMT (General Manager in Training) who actually
interviewed me!!! He also gave me a Lonesberry(sic) Test, and once
again took my resume and gave me a Pilot application to fill out.
One month later (yes, no lie)a different Pilot Recruiter called
me, stateing he had pulled my resume off the internet (Monster.com) and
if I was interested in an interview. I explained to him what had
already happened (honestly, I felt like Arlo Guthry in 'Alice's
Restuarant') just short of the 8x10 color gloosy photos with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one! He promised to
call me back.
My God, he called back! And it only took 6 days! He said he was
sorry for the trouble I had gone through but they had 'lost' my resume
(s) and test in Dalton, and would I mind going back for retesting.
(Now, Dalton, Ga. is at least 60 miles from my home!)
Being the recovering masochist I am, I went back. Once again
meeting the SAME GM (who didn't remember me at all) and same attitude,
i.e. I was wasting his time, he didn't know I was comeing, etc.
After a 2 minute interview I once again took the Lonesberry,
filled out an application (thats 3 now!) and gave him my resume.
Two weeks later I heard back with an offer.
Funny sidenote: the GM in Dalton is now a Regional Manager (LMAO)
