Employee morale is low at best. The good Managers that come through
either get fed up within 3 years and leave or trudge through life at
work dis-jointed. Pilot is scared to death to fire Managers. I have
personally watched a known thief (stole 2K in merch from our store on
camera) get transferred from store to store and keep position. Finally
losing his job only when doing 6K in refunds in 1 hour (too blatent I
guess) and pocketing the money.
Turnover is rampant, and encouraged, though the P&L statements.
When a certain hourly pay wage is reached, GM's and Co's and RGM's are
told to eliminate the higher paid employees and rehire (i.e. get rid
of the tenure and hire fresh, low paid newbies).
Fuel pricing and changes in pricing are only done when the local
competition changes their prices first.
