My company is medium sized. We have over 100 staff employees and many
more who freelance. The environment is very family like as many people
stay here for years which is not the norm in a production job. The
Execs are very hands on and it is not abnormal to see them throughout
the day or to have meetings with them on a semi regular basis. Because
this is a production company, shows often begin and end, but if you
are a loyal employee who consistently does good work, then the Execs
will go out of their way to find you a new position within the
company. They are also very good about promoting from within so if you
are aggresive about your career goals and you make it known in the
right manner, then there is the potential for advancement which is
nice. The dress is casual and the hours are fairly standard (9-6),
especially if you work more in the office rather than out in the field.
This alone is often unheard of in regard to a production job, thus,
this company is a great place for people with families or those who
just want a life, to work. You can work in tv and still be home in
time for dinner.
