I truly enjoy working for Pfizer. This company bends over backwards for
its employees and creates an environment that encourages one not only to
strive to do their work, but also look ahead by a robust career
development plan. I personally work 50% which is ideal for me and my
family. Not too many companies would offer a Ph.D. level employee this
opportunity. My colleagues are great people to work with and while this
environment is tense due to corporate demands, drive for increased
productivity, pressure to meet timelines, and constant process
improvement, we all have a great working relationship and try to have
fun while maintaining a vigorous work pace. My hours are extremely
flexible as I try to work out childcare considerations and everyone is
very sensitive to my situation. The dress code here is unspoken, but
very appropriate for our business, I hear no complaints. The
opportunities for advancement are there for those striving for
advancement; as with anything worth striving for you have to work for
it, but the company is clear on how to best achieve these goals. As far
as diversity it is an integral part of the corporate culture here and
not often really thought about. We do acknowledge different cultures on
a yearly basis with celebration and awareness months. Pretty much
everyone is free to be themselves here. Yes Pfizer is a good place to
work.
