I am not sure of the future of research based Pharma Co's today. Not
sure will happen if strict price controls are instituted by the govt.
As I am biased to say, I feel that healthcare costs and ins fraud are
bigger issues than drug prices today. Pfizer has a lot of big time
drugs coming off patent in the next 5 years and needs to come up with
ones to replace them fast. We do have some big ones coming, but I am
not sure if there is enough of them. Most people feel we had to buy
Warner Lambert and Pharmacia cause our own pipeline sucked. I am
cautiously optimistic about the future of Pfizer. We are such a large
company with some many expectations today.
