Corporate Culture - is very "new jersey" suburb. People work 9-5. My
department is not a team oriented environment. People are not willing
to go out of their way to help one another. It is very bureaucratic.
People in my dept. do not mingle with one another during lunch or after
lunch.
Many stay at pershing because you get to say you work in Financial
Services without the hours or insane deadlines/workload. By that
token, you are not paid as highly as someone actually working in a
traditional Fin.
Svc./I-banking
environment, yet employees expect to be paid that amount since they are
doing the same type of work. Diversity is not that great. It's a boy's
club, but more women are joining the ranks. Minorities in professional
level and management level positions are underrepresented, as far as I
can see without a real data analysis. Dress code is business casual,
with your usual contingent of people pushing the envelope on Fridays.
Opportunities for advancement depend on the department. The firm is
good with flextime and soft skills training opportunities, however the
quality of the training is fair.
