Perot is very customer oriented, we are a pure consulting shop and so
we really focus what we're doing on what our customer needs. The
corporate culture is in fact customer driven. For example, I work at a
particular customer site, so my work environment has much more to do
with our customer's work environment than with any generic "Perot work
environment".
At my specific site, we have fairly flexible hours and we normally
don't work much over 40 hours a week. Of course, if we're doing a big
project and it's "crunch time", that's a different story! The main
thing is to take care of our customer. Some of our folks are on call
24x7; some of us are on call every so many weeks; some of us are never
on call. Depends on where you work and what you do.
Diversity: Perot Systems, for real, hires on ability and nothing else.
We have a complete mix of men/women, white/black/hispanic, US-
born/foreign born, etc. There really doesn't seem to be any real
concern with where you come from here; it's just about what you know
how to do.
Advancement: If only! Our sales are extremely weak the past few
years. This is the one drawback about Perot: you can't advance since
we aren't selling any significant new business. Hopefully things will
pick up; but for the past few years there are almost NO promotions, NO
raises, NO bonuses, NO anything.
